Pedagogy & principles

We may be small, but we do great things.

At the formatio private school with class sizes of around 15 pupils, we attach great importance to individual and personal education. As an all-day school, we experience our learners in different settings and can therefore optimally support and challenge them in their strengths.

We are particularly proud of our innovative strength in the areas of education and digitalization. We were awarded the European Language Label by the European Commission for our school development in 2019. In order to prepare our students as well as possible for life in the 21st century, we focus on our four core areas in our integrated school concept from elementary school to the Matura.

Leitbild

Personality

“Strengthening strengths” is the founding idea of the formatio private school. Modern positive psychology confirms this guiding pedagogical principle by assuming that every person has five to seven character strengths that characterize their individuality. We use various concepts and tools from positive psychology to specifically promote the skills, talents and potential of our students.

Change is the only constant in the future world of work. This makes it all the more important to recognize personal strengths and develop individual talents. This places personal development at the heart of our forward-looking school concept. Learners become aware of their potential and can later act proactively in an increasingly dynamic job market.

Plurilingualism

Plurilingualism is not just about learning more languages. In addition to language-sensitive and bilingual teaching, the plurilingual principle also includes the promotion of cross-language learning and thus networked thinking. This ensures that learners are better able to find their way in a complex, networked and global world.

Digital media and digitization

As Liechtenstein’s pioneer in digitalization and education, the formatio private school has been a successful 1:1 iPad school since 2012. However, living in a digital world also means being able to understand and critically reflect on it. It is therefore of the utmost importance to convey not only the assessment and classification of information, but also knowledge about digitalization.

Networking

The numerous projects on offer invite learners of all ages to think creatively and critically. Communication, collaboration, critical thinking and creativity. These four Cs are the skills for the 21st century and form the basis of the focus on networking. Just as the learning zones of the formatio private school enable different communication settings, learning in table groups and the (digital) campus in everyday school life requires collaboration.
